MLB is all about healthy competition, professional sportsmanship and world class baseball matches. This can be seen respected by all the league members. In 1997 the Inter-league game was introduced between American League and National League. These two leagues were once total rival to each other but now that distinction is faded away. In 2000 both American league and national league was dissolved and merged into new major league which became the single entity. Now the same rules apply during the play between the two leagues, viz, American League and National League but with little exception that American League operates under designated hitter rule and the other National League does not.

In Major League Baseball MLBthe team has nine players on field. Every player is assigned a particular position and he is responsible for that particular position. The person who throws the ball is called pitcher. The pitcher is supposed to throw the ball to the batter, who is in the home base. The ball thrown is called the pitch. There is a method or a technique in throwing a ball. Every pitcher tries his best that the batter misses his ball or if in case the batter hits the ball it goes for a catch.
