The NBA - a league of giants

In the professional matches held by NBA, players with excellent physical coordination and agile ball handling skills are of prime importance. Thought they are shortest in height when compared to some of the other team members, their importance is nonetheless very important. The forward players in men’s basketball league are about 6 feet 6 inches tall, and the players at the center are around 6 feet 10 inches tall. According to survey the average height of all the players in National League Association is around 6 feet 7 inches. Their weight averages to about 101 kg. Being tall and bulky yet agile and flexible is of utmost importance for all basketball players.

Currently there are 30 teams under NBA divided into six different divisions, 5 teams come under each of these divisions – Atlantic, Pacific, Central, Southwest, Southeast and Northwest. The teams that play under the Atlantic division are Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors. Teams playing under the Pacific division are Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings. Teams that comprise the Central division include Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks. Each of these leagues have star sportsmen playing for them.
