MLB is extremely strict when it comes to the way their players can equip themselves for the game. The fielder uses a leather gloves, and for the batter shoes and a helmet. There are specific rules in MLB regarding the equipments used for the play such as spiked shoes, the bats, the balls, helmets etc.
Major League Baseball (MLB) was started in 1876 and since then it has gone through many changes till date. The most recent being done in 2005, the chief executive of major league is commissioner. The commissioner of baseball reserves the authority to hire and maintain the umpiring crew, the labor, and also to negotiate with television contractors. There are also six other executive vice-presidents in charge taking care of development of baseball, labor and human resources, administration, and overall baseball operations.
Right from 1969 till 1993 the MLB consisted of east and the west division and during this time the players of the league met only during the World Series and during All-star game. MLB was divided into two leagues namely American league and National league. The American league consisted of 14 teams and National league consisted of 16 teams. Now each of the leagues is further divided into namely east, central, and west.
